How it works

Citation evidence, kept simple.

What AI Cites collects cited links from AI answers, normalizes the websites and pages, and presents them as public search and comparison pages. It does not call a model live or infer why a source appeared.

What you can see

• Websites and topics that appear in the public results.
• Cited pages connected to a website or topic.
• Where two websites appear together.

How to interpret it

A citation shows that a source appeared in an observed answer. It is not traffic data, demand, quality, trust, influence, training use, or commercial value.

How source share is counted

For a prompt with several cited domains, each domain receives a fraction of one source unit: w(p,d) = I(d is cited) / number of distinct cited domains. This keeps a prompt with many links from counting more than a prompt with one link.

Raw citation-edge counts remain available as a separate descriptive view. Provider-defined recorded ranks are shown only with their coverage and are not treated as a guaranteed answer order.

How pages are grouped

The product keeps the source-domain edge, exact URL hostname, URL-section pattern, and complete canonical page separate. A generic path grouping is inferred from the URL structure; no page content is fetched or classified.

Public boundaries

Prompt text and internal processing details are not published. Some URLs may be withheld when they contain sensitive query information.
